Description:
Lane Transit District (Ore.) and CTAA ELA graduate, will discuss LTD’s service animal pilot program and the lessons learned from its implementation. Community and public transportation systems across the country are facing dilemmas with how to best develop and enforce service animal policies. LTD’s service animal pilot program formally began in 2018 as an attempt to create a better boarding experience for public transit passengers with service animals. Preliminary data suggests that the voluntary program has made transportation easier for everyone involved; with drivers becoming fierce advocates for the new program. Join us for this webinar and learn more about this innovative approach to incorporating service animals into public transit.
